Hi! My name is Grace.

Welcome to my site.

I am glad you are here because I love having visitors, whether it is in real life or on the Internet.

I am over 10 years old and live with Mommy in Colorado. That is a state in the western part of the United States. It has lots of mountains with days of sunshine and days of snow. One of my favorite things is going to our friend’s house in the mountains.

The way I see it, life is an adventure.

I have had a lot of adventures in my life. You can read about some of them in Everybody Loves Grace, books 1, 2, and 3!

Loving people is another one of my favorite things.

Everyone needs love. I look into the eyes of every person I meet so they can feel the love I have for them. They like to pet me, and I like it too. And sometimes, I give them my paw to say hi.

Even when I am not sure what will happen next, I find the fun and the good in everything I do and in everyone I meet. It certainly makes life more interesting!

I hope you like my site.

Please join me on my very first adventure.

What’s New with Katy and Grace?

Humble Yet Fierce

My newest book, Humble Yet Fierce: My Life Behind the Curtain of the CIA, is dedicated to Grace for helping me find my voice. When I started telling Grace’s stories, I had no idea they would lead me to writing my story.

Often, we want to speak up, but we don’t, gripped by fear and the need to get along. The reality is, it’s hard to find our voice: and then one day we do.

Like the Everybody Loves Grace stories, I bring my true-life stories of courage, faith, and adventure related to that journey. From the life-changing events in my first year of college to my career in the CIA, I share that you don’t have to be loud to be strong.

It’s only fitting that Grace is on the cover of the book with me as I am often reminded how Grace epitomized being Humble Yet Fierce. You can read about Grace in Part 8: Find Your Voice.

If you are interested in ordering the book, you can  buy it on Amazon.

Grace’s Legacy Lives On

Dear Friends and Grace Followers,

I have struggled with how to share the news of Grace’s passing. This is a post I never wanted to write but knew that it was inevitable. Death is a part of the cycle of life.

Grace lived with such a strong spirit until the bitter end, and then she let me know it was time. She was as dignified in death as she was in life.

I am grateful she shared her life with me and with all of you through her stories. She brought joy, adventure and love to everyone she met for 16 years.

I plan to write book seven of the Everybody Loves Grace series. In her parting message, Grace asked me to share her story that we are never too old for a new adventure. She also wanted to remind us to love and live every day to the fullest.

Much Love, Katy

Another Mile High Radio Interview

I had another fun interview with Murphy Huston on the radio. Murphy does such a great job asking questions that help me share the impact of the Everybody Loves Grace series on people of all ages.

During the interview we talked about the launch of the Living with Grace-A Seniors Program designed to support caretakers in their mission to provide seniors with a fuller and happier life. The messages the program delivers are timely and positive, and relative to their special needs. A focus of the program is to support seniors with ways to navigate change, be active and stay connected.

Stay tuned for more fun happenings related to the Living with Grace program. In the meantime, you can have a listen to my latest interview that aired on Bonneville Radio’s KOSI 101.1 and KYGO 98.5.

Lovingly, Katy

There’s nothing better than sharing Everybody Loves Grace books with students and engaging in a lively discussion. #EveryBodyLovesGrace #kindnessmatters #kidlit #adventure #courage
Storytelling has a lot of benefits. It’s fun, engaging, and a great stress reliever.

But one of my favorites is that it stimulates your mind.

That’s part of the reason I wrote the books about Grace - I wanted to share her stories in a format that people of all ages could be stimulated and inspired by.

Living with Grace is a program for seniors that is specially designed with their cognitive health in mind. Every story about Grace provides stimulation for participants when they hear about her adventures and the challenges she faces.

And the program guides for the staff member or caregiver leading the activity provide all the prompts needed to keep the participants fully engaged.

I would love for you and your seniors to experience the benefits of storytelling, so I am giving away the first chapter of book 6 for FREE on my website! Please visit www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com today for the download.

I know as soon as you finish the first chapter, you’ll see how Living with Grace can be a valuable resource for your activity calendar!
No matter what age you are, one thing is inevitable - change.

From children in preschool to seniors living in communities, everyone needs to cope with change, and one of the best tools for navigating change is using storytelling.

Any good story has some type of problem to solve, so when you share stories, you are constantly learning how others have resolved challenging situations.

Living with Grace is a seniors program that uses storytelling to show how Grace the Dog faces all types of changes in her life. It also nurtures conversations between participants, so they can share their stories, too.

If you’d like to read a sample of the award-winning six-book series, please visit my website at www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com and download chapter 1 of book six today!
Do you know a great way to build friendships in your community?
Share stories!
Research shows that when you participate in storytelling, you bond with the other people in your group by connecting with them and the characters in the stories.

This builds empathy, which helps you be a better friend.

Living with Grace uses storytelling to share the adventures of Grace the Dog, who is a true friend to everyone she meets.

Communities thrive when their residents enjoy strong friendships, and Living with Grace is designed to help seniors live a happier, fuller life through an award-winning book series.

If you’d like to see how powerful storytelling can be, then I’d like to share a story about one of Grace’s adventures with you for FREE!

Please visit my website at www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com today for a download of the first chapter of Book 6!

I’m excited to share that my new book, “Humble Yet Fierce: My Life Behind the Curtain of the CIA,” is officially published. When I headed off to college in 1979, I couldn’t have imagined that one day I would be writing books and delivering speeches about leadership.

Yet it’s here, a book with some of my life stories and lessons learned about work and leadership during my thirty-two year career in the CIA.
