Everybody Loves Grace Books
Hi! My name is Grace.
Welcome to my site.
I am glad you are here because I love having visitors, whether it is in real life or on the Internet.
I am over 10 years old and live with Mommy in Colorado. That is a state in the western part of the United States. It has lots of mountains with days of sunshine and days of snow. One of my favorite things is going to our friend’s house in the mountains.
The way I see it, life is an adventure.
I have had a lot of adventures in my life. You can read about some of them in Everybody Loves Grace, books 1, 2, and 3!
Loving people is another one of my favorite things.
Everyone needs love. I look into the eyes of every person I meet so they can feel the love I have for them. They like to pet me, and I like it too. And sometimes, I give them my paw to say hi.
Even when I am not sure what will happen next, I find the fun and the good in everything I do and in everyone I meet. It certainly makes life more interesting!
I hope you like my site.
Please join me on my very first adventure.

A special dog. A heartwarming story.
What’s New with Katy and Grace?
Showcasing Living with Grace – A Seniors Program
I’m excited to share that we are officially launching the Living with Grace Seniors Program. This special program was developed to provide seniors with a fuller and happier life. The messages the program delivers are positive, timely, and relevant to their special needs. We’ve tried it out at a number of centers and have seen first-hand how the program brings the participants joy within themselves and connection with others.
Studies have shown that when seniors are engaged with others, emotional well-being and physical health improves. Because growing older comes with many changes, it is essentially important to support seniors with ways to navigate change, be active, feel inspired, stay connected with others and see themselves as valuable contributors within their community. To live in this way is to thrive.
The Living with Grace Seniors Program is filled with stories to share, meaningful connections, contributes to an organization and provides participants with ways to thrive each day.
I look forward to sharing with you how this adventure unfolds. The program launch is at the National Adult Day Services Association conference in Pittsburgh, PA on 12-14 October 2022. Lovingly, Katy

Dog Days of Summer
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the summer heat wave to be over. It’s been one hot summer and I spend a lot of time inside by an air conditioning vent.
We are in the “Dog Days” of summer which are usually the hottest and most unbearable days of the year. Most people think “Dog Days” is a reference to the hot and humid days that are “not fit for a dog.” You might be surprised to know the phrase is a reference to the rising of Sirius, the Dog Star that is a part of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.
Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and it’s not hard to find.
“Dog days are approaching; you must, therefore, make both hay and haste while the Sun shines, for when old Sirius takes command of the weather, he is such an unsteady, crazy dog, there is no dependence upon him.” – The Old Farmer’s Almanac, 1817
We have a special sale going on for Everybody Loves Grace: A True Story of Grace’s Adventure to Washington, DC. A perfect book for reading indoors on a hot summer day. Visit www.everybodylovesgrace.com.
Lovingly, Grace

Grace Is A Road Warrior
Some readers think I’m kidding when I say Grace doesn’t sleep when she’s in
the car on a road trip, but it’s true. Grace made another cross-country trip
with me this month and she slept a total of 30 minutes, max. It only took us three days to drive from Colorado
to Virginia thanks to the help from my dear friend, Beth Nicoson.
Grace did an amazing job of going with the flow on the trip even when the
car’s air conditioning decided not to work while driving through Nebraska.
The kind staff at Dirk’s Auto in Lincoln, NE, fit us in for a repair because we
were traveling with “a senior dog.” Thanks to Dirk’s, our car was in
the shop at 0800am on day two of our drive, and we were cool and ready to go by
0900am.
The July road trip combined with the last few months have all the key elements for a new Everybody Loves Grace story. I’m excited to get writing book 7 in the series.
Until Then, Katy

Humble Yet Fierce
My newest book, Humble Yet Fierce: My Life Behind the Curtain of the CIA, is dedicated to Grace for helping me find my voice. When I started telling Grace's stories, I had no idea they would lead me to writing my story. Often, we want to speak up, but we don't,...

Storytelling has a lot of benefits. It’s fun, engaging, and a great stress reliever.
But one of my favorites is that it stimulates your mind.
That’s part of the reason I wrote the books about Grace - I wanted to share her stories in a format that people of all ages could be stimulated and inspired by.
Living with Grace is a program for seniors that is specially designed with their cognitive health in mind. Every story about Grace provides stimulation for participants when they hear about her adventures and the challenges she faces.
And the program guides for the staff member or caregiver leading the activity provide all the prompts needed to keep the participants fully engaged.
I would love for you and your seniors to experience the benefits of storytelling, so I am giving away the first chapter of book 6 for FREE on my website! Please visit www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com today for the download.
I know as soon as you finish the first chapter, you’ll see how Living with Grace can be a valuable resource for your activity calendar!
No matter what age you are, one thing is inevitable - change.
From children in preschool to seniors living in communities, everyone needs to cope with change, and one of the best tools for navigating change is using storytelling.
Any good story has some type of problem to solve, so when you share stories, you are constantly learning how others have resolved challenging situations.
Living with Grace is a seniors program that uses storytelling to show how Grace the Dog faces all types of changes in her life. It also nurtures conversations between participants, so they can share their stories, too.
If you’d like to read a sample of the award-winning six-book series, please visit my website at www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com and download chapter 1 of book six today!
Do you know a great way to build friendships in your community?
Share stories!
Research shows that when you participate in storytelling, you bond with the other people in your group by connecting with them and the characters in the stories.
This builds empathy, which helps you be a better friend.
Living with Grace uses storytelling to share the adventures of Grace the Dog, who is a true friend to everyone she meets.
Communities thrive when their residents enjoy strong friendships, and Living with Grace is designed to help seniors live a happier, fuller life through an award-winning book series.
If you’d like to see how powerful storytelling can be, then I’d like to share a story about one of Grace’s adventures with you for FREE!
Please visit my website at www.EverybodyLovesGrace.com today for a download of the first chapter of Book 6!

I’m excited to share that my new book, “Humble Yet Fierce: My Life Behind the Curtain of the CIA,” is officially published. When I headed off to college in 1979, I couldn’t have imagined that one day I would be writing books and delivering speeches about leadership.
Yet it’s here, a book with some of my life stories and lessons learned about work and leadership during my thirty-two year career in the CIA.
